Sarah Mace

I'm SO happy to report that Sarah Mace, the 15 year old daughter of a friend of mine, learned from the doctors yesterday that her Leukemia is in remission! After two rounds of chemo with no results, they did a third round with an experimental drug, and as of yesterday, the cancer cells are below 1%! She has an almost perfect bone marrow match, and in a few weeks, they will begin preparing her for the transplant.

Sarah and her family have been an inspiration through this whole ordeal, their strength and faith have been moving beyond words.

Not sure if congratulations is the right word, but CONGRATULATIONS SARAH!

Makena Mudd!

Oh-so adorable Makena Jane Mudd arrived on August 27th. After a few scares the dear little, COMPLETELY perfect and oh-so tiny Makena made her debut in the big Central Oregon World. Makena, (and Mom-Jenny and Dad-Mike) are home safe and sound, weeks before the doctors thought she would be! Already a serious trooper. I think Mike's right - we've got a serious shredding boarder in the works here. And Mamma and Pops Mudd get to remind her when she's a teen just how exciting her arrival was. A few more photos of the proud family. Congratulations!

PS - We visited with Makena, Jenny and Mike last night. Happy to report that I resisted the urge to run away with the cute little peanut. And, Makena squeaks!! So frickin' cute.

Yachats

The Schmids were SO generous to let us stay at their completely gorgeous house on the coast. It was Brad's first visit to the Oregon coast... and we're both completely spoiled after this fabulous trip! The steamed clams and fish and chips at the dive bar in the middle of town were to die for, and the Sambuca with coffee beans at The Waterfront, which was LIT ON FIRE, was quite the experience. The boys chased the waves, then the waves chased them, and a fabulous time was had by all. Thank you again.

Unbelievable blow-hole, right past the Schmid's lawn

The boys, including Brad, LOVED the coast. Brad was surprised to see that the coast in the Pacific Northwest wasn't the kind of place we could rent a boat and float around, and the pups LOVED chasing the waves. Even though Sammy wasn't quite sure what they were, he was ready to take them on!

Koa, taking in some rays

We took a gorgeous hike up to the tallest point on the Oregon Coast - Cape Perpetua

View from the top.

Cool tree.

Colleen & A-Train's Wedding

Colleen and Anthony were married at Aspen Hall on September 9th, during a perfect Central Oregon afternoon. Congratulations you two, and thank you for including us, it was an honor to be there!

Colleen was beautiful (of course!) and looked like Snow White (a TAN Snow White) and Anthony was so dapper in his tux. What a gorgeous setting!

You may kiss the bride! And then go to Jamaica.

Chewy and Amy, before the dance party

Dance Party! Jess, what's that finger doin'?

Misc Pups

It's hard to reprimand the pups when you're laughing hysterically. Here we see the aftermath after a run-in with a bag of flour. They feel very very very bad, you can tell...

Sammy: I'm sorry mom
Koa: Sammy did it.

Koa thinks he's a lap dog. Sammy wants to know when dinner will be ready.

My boys, on the hike up Broken Top

My little tiny peanut Koa. Sleeping on the couch. Which is soooo not allowed.
